Energy from fossil fuels and the disposal of waste creates greenhouse gases which impact on the climate. To help the New Forest transition towards a low carbon society we have several local projects to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, energy usage and waste produced.

Calculating your baseload is the first step to monitoring your energy use. It can also expose inaccuracies or inconsistencies in your use. For example, it isn’t unheard of for people to find that they are paying for some of their neighbour’s electricity supply as well as their own!

Jean Genie is a fun event aiming to show people how to avoid old jeans going to waste, by up-cycling them into something useful. People have made cushions, bags, bunting, pencil cases, toys, phone covers and more… the possibilities are endless. Young or old, new to sewing or an experienced hand, why not join us? Help is on hand to show you how!

Jean Genie events are held in Lymington Community Centre, just come along, refreshments available!
