Saturday 4 October, 2-4pm
The Memorial Hall, The Borough, Downton SP5 3PD
This is a great opportunity to find out about different types of ‘Green’ or sustainable methods of producing electricity and heating in the home including ‘wood burning stoves’ and ‘ground/ air source heat pumps, plus energy saving products, such as ‘loft insulation’, and rainwater harvesting. You can talk not only to experts from local companies but also to local residents who actually have these products installed – get the answers to questions such as, ‘How much money will it cost?’ and ‘Will it help the environment?’ There will also be a Domestic Corner with smaller energy saving ideas and where you can calculate your carbon footprint. Finally see how long it takes you to generate enough energy to make a smoothie with the famous ‘Smoothie Making Bike’. Homemade refreshments available – of course!
