Take a look around some local properties with renewable technologies or ‘green measures’.
Property owners will guide you around their home explaining the steps they have taken to make their homes more sustainable, it provides an opportunity for you to find out more without the hard sell.
Various residential and community properties across the Forest area will be open this weekend.
Green Open Doors is a great way for people to find out more about enviromentally friendly technologies being used in homes around the New Forest.
Property owners open their homes to the public over a weekend to share their knowledge and experience on their energy saving technologies, which could include:
- solar systems
- heat pumps
- additional insulation
- water saving measures
- LED Lighting
Entrance to properties is free and it’s a great opportunity to see the technologies in action and get first hand feedback and advice.
The participating properties for the 2014 event will be announced by 1 September, when a map will be produced showing locations, opening times and the technologies on show. No tickets are required and you can visit as many properties as you like.
