If you’re considering keeping some chickens and want all the low down on how to go about it then come and join local expert Sharon Jackson for this practical event.
Sharon will cover all the key aspects for beginners: legal issues, choosing housing, breed types, ailments, lice and worms, vermin control, feeding and grit, types of drinkers and feeders, breeding (if folk are interested), how to handle a hen, wing clipping and so on. And there’ll be some practical demonstrations of bird handling (if the Centre’s chickens are willing!).
Please come in sensible clothing, and bring pen and paper.
