Please join us for a tour of RSPB Franchises Lodge and Cameron’s Cottage, a shared lunch and our AGM.
Saturday 1st October, 2022
This year’s New Forest Transition AGM will be held at Cameron’s Cottage, near Telegraph Hill Car Park, in the northern part of the New Forest on the road between Bramshaw and Downton.
We will meet at 11.00 with a tour of Cameron’s Cottage and surrounding woodland from 11.30am – 1.00pm, then a shared lunch and the formal AGM from 1.00pm to 2.30pm.
During the AGM we will give a very brief summary on what New Forest Transition is up to and then invite discussion, ideas and involvement for the year ahead.
It is a free event, but please book your place online, so we can plan for numbers.
Lunch – we’re planning a ‘bring and share’ lunch, and will contact you nearer the time to coordinate this.
Based within RSPB Franchises Lodge nature reserve, a 386 hectare (almost 1,000 acres) woodland of deciduous and conifer trees that has largely been inaccessible to the public for many years. The national wildlife charity describes it as a “secret forest” that is home to a wide range of birds, invertebrates and plant life. Previously a derelict old workman’s cottage, it has been transformed into a residential retreat where groups of young people can experience and learn about the natural world.
